Festplatz Weiden Volksfestplatz | Spring Festival & Folk Festival
The Festplatz Weiden Volksfestplatz on Conrad-Röntgen-Straße is the official large event area of the city of Weiden in the Upper Palatinate. The city describes the area as its own festival and event space with over 26,000 m² of usable space, necessary electricity and water connections, as well as an optional parking lot with around 300 car spaces. This mix makes the location so important for Weiden's event calendar: Here, Spring Festival, Folk Festival, circus, fair, and other large formats meet on a space that is organizationally designed for many visitors, rides, festival tents, and special uses. Therefore, those searching for Festplatz Weiden Volksfestplatz, Spring Festival Weiden, or Folk Festival Weiden do not end up at just any meadow, but at a clearly defined municipal event venue with long-standing use and city management. ([weiden.de](https://www.weiden.de/kultur/tagen-in-weiden/festplatz))
Spring Festival and Folk Festival at Festplatz Weiden
The Spring Festival 2026 clearly shows the role that the Festplatz plays throughout the year. According to the official city website, it takes place from April 30, 2026, to May 10, 2026, spanning over eleven days. The kickoff begins on April 30 at 6:30 PM with the tapping of the beer keg, music, and festival tent atmosphere. The city announces a varied music program for the festival, combining folk music, hits, NDW, rock, and metal. Attractions include the Freefall Tower Hangover the Tower at 85 meters high, the giant swing XXL-Höllenrausch at 45 meters high, the 38-meter-high Ferris wheel Royal, and the haunted house Haunted Castle. This mix of music, thrills, and family offerings makes the Spring Festival a core event at the Folk Festival site. ([weiden.de](https://www.weiden.de/kultur/freizeit/veranstaltungen/details/fruehlingsfest-2026))
The Folk Festival 2025 also demonstrates the significance of the site as a central festival area. The city of Weiden announced the Folk Festival from September 18 to 22, 2025, also at the Festplatz on Conrad-Röntgen-Straße. The opening took place there with a concert, parade, and beer tapping by Mayor Jens Meyer. In the official information, the festival tent is described as the centerpiece of the area, complemented by a rich, hearty food offering and top bands for different musical tastes. It is clear: The Festplatz is not just a backdrop but the organizational and emotional center of the large Weiden folk festivals. Visitors often search for terms like program, today, date, festival tent, or Folk Festival Weiden because a distinct, multi-day experience is created there every year. ([weiden.de](https://www.weiden.de/kultur/freizeit/veranstaltungen/details/volksfest-2025?utm_source=openai))
Tickets, Festival Tokens, and Prices at the Weiden Festival
Those searching for Festplatz Weiden Volksfestplatz who also think about tickets and prices will find the city's festival token system primarily at the Spring Festival. The city sells so-called festival tokens for the Spring Festival 2026 until the start of the festival at the citizen information center in the New Town Hall and at the tourist information in the Old Town Hall. One token costs 80 cents but has a real value of 1.00 Euro, so there is an automatic price advantage. The tokens are accepted as a means of payment at all businesses and showmen at the Festplatz. The minimum purchase is 10 tokens. This is particularly relevant for many visitors when they search for prices, cash register, vouchers, or affordable festival options. Instead of traditional admission tickets, the practical payment structure is more in focus at this festival. ([weiden.de](https://www.weiden.de/kultur/freizeit/veranstaltungen/details/fruehlingsfest-2026))
At the Folk Festival 2025, the city published additional price and reservation information for the festival tent. A beer price of 11.80 Euros was mentioned, and table reservations were possible under a specified phone number. Such details show that the Festplatz does not function like a rigid event center but has its own offering logic depending on the event: sometimes festival tokens, sometimes table reservations, sometimes free access to the amusement park, sometimes seating in the festival tent. For users with search intentions around tickets, prices, or reservations, this is important because it explains why the answers always depend on the respective event. The Festplatz itself does not sell a general admission ticket but provides the framework for various municipal event models that depend on the season and the organizer. ([weiden.de](https://www.weiden.de/kultur/freizeit/veranstaltungen/details/volksfest-2025?utm_source=openai))
Access, Parking, and Festplatz Shuttle in Weiden
Access to the Festplatz is comparatively clearly regulated. The area is located on Conrad-Röntgen-Straße in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate; this address is explicitly mentioned on the official city website and in the festival regulations. For visitors with cars, it is particularly interesting that the city provides an optional parking lot with around 300 spaces. This is an important advantage for large folk festivals, as additional areas can be activated depending on the event. At the same time, the official festival regulation shows that traffic on the Festplatz itself is heavily regulated: Vehicles of all kinds are generally prohibited, only emergency and access vehicles as well as medical transport vehicles are exempt. Delivery traffic is only permitted with explicit permission. Therefore, those searching for parking festplatz weiden or access festplatz weiden should understand the area as an event space with a regulated access concept and not as a freely accessible parking lot. ([weiden.de](https://www.weiden.de/kultur/tagen-in-weiden/festplatz))
Particularly convenient is the official Festplatz shuttle. The city of Weiden has allowed, by city council resolution, that taxis and rental cars can operate special traffic to and from the Festplatz on the occasion of the Spring and Folk Festivals. Specific stops have been designated for the outbound journey, including New Town Hall, Josefskirche, Justice Building, City Cemetery, Red Cross Square, Lessingstraße, and Waldlust. Return trips start at the Festplatz and end at public transport stops in the city area. This is a strong indication that the city actively manages access and wants to connect visitors with buses, taxis, or rental cars. For guests, this means: Those who want to travel comfortably should not only think about the parking lot but also plan the shuttle as a real alternative, especially on heavily visited festival days. ([weiden.de](https://www.weiden.de/fileadmin/user_upload/A_Stadt-Rathaus-Buerger/A03_Rathaus/Politik/Sitzungen/2021/2021_09_27_stadtrat_beschl.pdf))
Area, Equipment, and Events at the Festplatz
The Festplatz Weiden Volksfestplatz is more than just the area for two large annual festivals. The city of Weiden explicitly describes it as its own festival and event space with over 26,000 m² of usable space. Additionally, there are electricity and water connections that are crucial for showmen, tents, gastronomy, technology, and special setups. This basic equipment makes the location so flexible: A circus needs different processes than a Spring Festival, a fair needs different supply routes than a Folk Festival, but these requirements can generally be represented at the Festplatz. Therefore, it is logical that the city regularly locates Spring and Folk Festivals, circus stays, and fairs there. The area is thus not only large but also infrastructurally prepared. Those searching for festplatz weiden volksfestplatz, events weiden, or festival location upper palatinate will find the answer to a central question here: Where in Weiden do the large, open, quickly buildable event formats arise? ([weiden.de](https://www.weiden.de/kultur/tagen-in-weiden/festplatz))
The official Spring Festival brochure also shows how versatile the area is used during a single festival. For 2026, in addition to the music program, a large offering of rides and a pronounced gastronomy are planned. Among other things, the 38-meter-high Ferris wheel classic Royal, the 45-meter-high giant swing XXL-Höllenrausch, the 85-meter-high Freefall Tower Hangover the Tower, the haunted house Haunted Castle, children's carousels, air pressure flyers, boat rides, family roller coasters, and classic games like raffles, dart throwing, shooting galleries, and ball throwing are mentioned. In the culinary area, the offerings range from Dotsch and hand bread to fish and Asian specialties to pretzels, burgers, and bratwurst sandwiches. The wheat beer carousel also serves as a social meeting point. This is important for visitors because the Festplatz not only offers space for people but also for program diversity, sightlines, pathways, and mood islands. The place is thus modular in the best sense: A visitor experiences a completely different festival depending on the evening. ([weiden.de](https://www.weiden.de/kultur/freizeit/veranstaltungen/details/fruehlingsfest-2026))
Photos, Reviews, and Visitor Experience
When searching for photos and reviews of the Festplatz Weiden Volksfestplatz, the visitor experience plays a significant role. The provided Google reviews create an overall positive picture: Many guests praise the rides, the atmosphere, and the relatively moderate prices. However, some individual feedback criticizes additional costs, such as for the toilets. Such voices are particularly important for the search intention of reviews because they show how the festival is perceived from the perspective of real visitors. Especially at folk festivals, users want to know before a visit whether the trip is worth it, whether the price-performance ratio is right, and whether the atmosphere is more family-friendly or more party-oriented. For the Festplatz Weiden Volksfestplatz, the provided reviews primarily speak for a lively place where fun, culinary delights, and sociability come together. The mood preferences of visitors range from family visits to after-work gatherings, which fits well with the character of a folk and spring festival. ([weiden.de](https://www.weiden.de/kultur/tagen-in-weiden/festplatz))
The visual impact of the area is also relevant for those searching for photos. The city website shows the Festplatz in a night shot, emphasizing the open, generous character of the area. Combined with the official descriptions of tents, rides, and lighting, it creates the image of a vast event landscape that presents itself particularly impressively at night. This explains why search terms like photos, reviews, or visitor experience are so frequently associated with the location: People want to feel how the terrain works in advance. The Festplatz is ideal for this because it not only functions as an event space in a factual sense but also creates an emotional stage through light, music, and ride aesthetics. Therefore, anyone looking for a location with folk festival character, clear structure, and plenty of atmosphere will find a place that is firmly anchored in Weiden and is perceived as a lively meeting point both on the official website and in the reviews. Fun times, this festival is quaint. Small but a perfect place to bring the kids or just hang out in the tent and drink a few beers. The only reason it isn't five stars is because Oktoberfest IS everything it isn't.

Went to a food truck festival here with an infant and it was great! It was very hot when we went so we had to stay hydrated.
