Inside, cozy rooms create the typical Upper Palatinate atmosphere, while in summer, an inviting beer garden expands the seating options. The ensemble is complemented by the Cafébar Oma Resi, which invites guests to unwind on Thursdays from early evening. With an easily accessible location near the A93, a reliable online calendar for tapping dates, and well-documented contact options, the Brucksaler is a destination for all who wish to combine genuine Upper Palatinate hospitality with modern event expertise.
Zoigl Dates and Calendar at Brucksaler
The heart of the house remains the Zoigl, which is served in Neustadt an der Waldnaab on selected weekends. The Zoiglstubn open regularly from Friday to Monday, allowing guests a planned break between the workweek and the beginning of the week. Those who want to check in advance whether it will be tapped can use the Zoigl calendar of the Brucksaler Zoiglstubn, where the individual tapping periods are continuously published. For orientation in the city, Neustadt an der Waldnaab also maintains a clear Zoigl calendar and lists the two local addresses, which include the Zoiglwirtschaft Zum Waldhauser alongside the Brucksaler. This way, locals and travelers can quickly find the next tapping and simultaneously get an impression of the variety of local Zoigl tradition.
Particularly helpful for travel planning are the specifically named dates. For the year 2026, the Brucksaler lists the following tapping weekends: January 16 to 19, February 20 to 23, March 20 to 23, April 17 to 20, the holiday on May 14, additionally May 15 to 18, June 19 to 22, July 10 to 13, August 1 as a summer festival, September 18 to 21, October 16 to 19, November 6 to 9 as Kirwa, November 20 to 23, and December 18 to 21. Those planning a weekend visit should check whether additional program points such as small concerts, readings, or club activities are taking place around this time. Experience shows that additional highlights are often scheduled around the tapping dates that round off the tavern experience.
Seasonal adjustments should be noted, especially in winter. During the cool season, the Zoiglstubn communicates its own times per tapping period; on some dates, Friday and Monday begin in the morning, while Saturday and Sunday open in the late afternoon. The exact timing is noted online for each date, providing planning security for families, groups, and day-trippers. Those traveling with friends also benefit from the mix of rooms, courtyard, and beer garden, which can be flexibly used depending on the weather and visitor numbers. Tip for groups: Reserve early or schedule the visit during less busy times to ensure seating choices and desired times.
Opening Hours: Overview of Zoiglstubn, Eventstodl, and Cafébar
The opening hours at Brucksaler depend on the respective area. For the Zoiglstubn, the tapping dates are crucial, during which it is traditionally tapped from Friday to Monday. Within this framework, the specific times per date are communicated, including any winter hours. This ensures that guests come exactly when the rooms are open and the Zoigl is freshly poured. Additionally, it is worth checking the menu for the respective weekend, as it varies according to the season with warm dishes and hearty snacks from the region.
The Eventstodl operates differently: as an event location, it opens by appointment. Those planning a wedding, a milestone birthday, a company party, a meeting, or a cultural format coordinate the date and scope directly with the team. The range extends from small celebrations on one floor to large parties that utilize the open gallery between the first and second floors for special sightlines and photo opportunities. The technology and climate are designed so that the rooms can be comfortably used even when fully booked. This makes the Eventstodl not only an alternative for bad weather but also a standalone stage for individual productions.
As a third offering, the Cafébar Oma Resi complements the weekly picture: it opens on Thursdays from 5 PM. The atmosphere is casual, and the menu features coffee and beer specialties, selected wines, refreshing cocktails, and small dishes. Ideal for the end of the workday or as a rendezvous with friends when one does not hit the Zoigl calendar. For outsiders, this creates a simple logic: those traveling flexibly and in the region on Thursdays can use the Cafébar; those wanting to experience Zoigl should plan according to the weekend dates; and those planning an event should reserve the Eventstodl independently of the tapping schedule.
Directions and Parking: How to Easily Get to the Zoiglstubn and Eventstodl
The address for navigation is Bahnhofstraße 13, 92660 Neustadt an der Waldnaab. Coming from the A93, take the Altenstadt an der Waldnaab exit and follow the signs towards Neustadt. Those planning to travel by train and bus can orient themselves to the connections to the train stop and the central stops in Neustadt; from there, the inner-city routes are short and well-structured.
The city provides various options for parking. Short-term parking spaces at the town square are practical for dropping someone off, coordinating a pickup, or making quick errands. Longer Zoigl evenings can be well combined with the parking garage Am Schmidrangen in Knorrstraße, which allows two hours of limited parking. Additionally, there are parking spaces in the area of the town hall Am Hofgarten, where E-charging points are also designated. Depending on visitor numbers, it is advisable to plan some buffer time to arrive relaxed and secure favorite spots in the room, courtyard, or beer garden. Guests who do not want to commit should best use the inner-city parking options and decide on-site where capacity is currently available.

This not only alleviates the search for parking but also ensures a focused start to the evening. The contact routes are short and transparent, facilitating the interplay between organizers, service providers, and house crew.
Celebrating in the Eventstodl: Weddings, Birthdays, Companies, and Culture
The Brucksaler Eventstodl is designed as a barrier-free new building on three floors and offers space for up to 200 people. An elevator connects the levels, and modern air conditioning with room ventilation ensures pleasant conditions in all seasons. Characteristic is the open gallery area between the first and second floors, which creates sightlines and allows photographers diverse perspectives. In the outdoor area, a chestnut arbor frames the ensemble and provides additional zones for receptions, group photos, or a short break in the greenery. This creates a flexible spatial structure that can be variably used from civil ceremonies to free weddings to evening parties.
For weddings, the Eventstodl offers the right setting from the ceremony in the orchard or in the rustic barn to the stylish table. Couples who want to add a personal touch will find enough space for decoration, floristry, and individual ceremonies. Birthdays, anniversaries, and family celebrations benefit from the combination of cozy interiors and well-utilized outdoor spaces. Companies, in turn, appreciate the clear structure for meetings, training sessions, and customer events, which can be combined with an atmospheric evening event if needed. The basic technical equipment and comfortable climate make the process reliable and relaxed.
Cultural formats also feel at home in the Eventstodl. Readings, small theater evenings, or concerts utilize the room height and the gallery to bring the audience and performers close together. Examples from the recent past show that groups from the region like to use the ambiance for exhibitions and shows. Whether seasonal themes, club presentations, or traditional evenings: the Eventstodl offers the stage where local culture finds the right expression. Those inquiring as organizers should have early information on the number of people, process, and technical needs ready so that planning can proceed swiftly and dates can be secured.

Photos of the rooms, courtyard, and outdoor areas can be viewed on the pages of the Zoiglstubn and the Eventstodl, giving a good impression of the atmosphere and lighting mood at different times of the day.

The Cafébar Oma Resi completes the offer with its own rhythm. On Thursdays from 5 PM, coffee and beer specialties, selected wines, cocktails, and small dishes await in a relaxed, homely atmosphere. For guests visiting the region during the week or for locals seeking a meeting point beyond the Zoigl dates, the Cafébar is a good address. Here, too, it is worth checking current notices, as seasonal promotions and thematic evenings occasionally provide variety.
History and Zoigl Tradition at Brucksaler
The name Brucksaler refers to the location near the Waldnaab bridge and to the craft that has been practiced here for generations. Since 1832, the property on Bahnhofstraße has been associated with the rope-making craft, which the family practiced until 1993. In 1865, Thomas Wiedenhofer acquired the documented right to serve Zoigl for the property, which was associated with the dissolution of the Principality of Lobkowitz and the acquisition of the princely brewery by the licensed vendors. In 1904, the brewery came into the possession of the city of Neustadt and was continued as a municipal brewery. Robert Wiedenhofer, brew and rope master, brewed for the remaining Zoigl hosts until the demolition of the municipal brewery in 1961 and served in his own room at Brucksaler.
This historical line shows how closely craft, brewing tradition, and tavern culture are intertwined in the region. The later renovation and revival as a Zoigl tavern brought the history into the present, where the rooms, courtyard, and beer garden make the cozy sides of Zoigl tradition experienceable. At the same time, the Eventstodl emerged as a modern counterpart, enabling weddings, family celebrations, corporate events, and cultural evenings under one roof. This duality is a unique feature: guests can immerse themselves in the down-to-earth world of the Upper Palatinate at the same place while booking a contemporary, comfortable location for special occasions.
The city itself supports orientation towards the Zoigl tradition with its own overview and refers to the two addresses in Neustadt. For those interested, it is worth looking at the municipal calendar to connect Zoigl routes and excursions with other attractions. The tapping dates give the annual cycle a recurring rhythm that can be excellently combined with culture, nature, and culinary delights in the Upper Palatinate Forest. Those traveling from afar can make the Zoigl visit the starting point for a weekend in the region, thus bridging the gap from tradition to leisure.

Super delicious, fresh food. Zoigl tastes excellent. One of the best liver dumplings I've ever had! Really fluffy and flavorful.

We are three friends who traditionally celebrate a big joint birthday party every 5 years. For our 60th, we were looking for a very special place fitting the occasion and found it here at Eventstodl! We booked the complete package: location, drinks including cocktails, and catering as finger food. Michael supported us excellently in the planning, especially in utilizing the premises and their design very creatively. The finger food was a huge success, providing culinary delight for the guests throughout the evening. Huge praise to Kerstin and her team! All in all, an unforgettable celebration for us and our guests! A heartfelt thank you to you and your friendly and accommodating team!!! The birthday "kids" :)) 13.09.2025

Inside, there's the typical Zoigl atmosphere. The Zoigl tastes very good too. Unfortunately, the staff was a bit inattentive, and we had to wait a bit longer at times. Especially the food took quite a while. The portions are also smaller than, for example, at other Zoigls in Windischeschenbach - I personally found the bread a bit lacking. (The cucumber and pretzel were already cut before the picture)

Nice place with a rustic atmosphere. Unfortunately, parking leads to dirty cars and shoes in bad weather ...
