Symphonic Horizons: A Musical Journey Through the Centuries

On November 8, 2026, the benefit event Symphonic Horizons invites you to the St. Josef church in Weiden. The concert connects significant works by Beethoven, Handel, Schubert, and Bach into a dramaturgically designed event experience between inner conflict, festive jubilation, classical lightness, and spiritual elevation.

From Dramatic Struggles to Musical Peace

The concert evening begins with Ludwig van Beethoven's dramatic Coriolan Overture. Its powerful contrasts make the painful struggle and inner conflict immediately audible. Following this, Georg Friedrich Handel's famous Fireworks Music provides a brilliant contrast. The work stands for historical jubilation and the peace following a concluded treaty.

Schubert's Lightness and Bach's Sublime Conclusion

With Franz Schubert's 3rd Symphony, a carefree, dynamic sound world enters the church space. The highlight is Johann Sebastian Bach's Dona nobis pacem. The plea for peace gives the concert a poignant conclusion and creates a special connection between classical music, sacred ambiance, and social engagement.

Music in a Modern Total Experience

Conductor Dieter Müller focuses on a contemporary event planning: The music is at the center and is anchored through brief literary impulses in the here and now. This creates a varied dramaturgy that takes concertgoers directly through the different epochs.

Benefit Concert for Interior Renovation

Admission to Symphonic Horizons is free. Donations are welcome and benefit the St. Josef parish, which supports the interior renovation. The event thus combines musical enjoyment, cultural participation, and concrete local engagement.

Conclusion: Experience Classical Music and Do Good

Symphonic Horizons promises an impressive event atmosphere with great orchestral works, literary accents, and a clear charitable purpose. Those who want to experience Beethoven, Handel, Schubert, and Bach in a unique church space while supporting the St. Josef parish will find a concert that leaves a lasting impression.
